Hockey season wears me down
Of that I have no doubt.
Hockey Night In Canada
Is what it's all about.
Games are broadcast Saturdays
For many hours on end.
The east and west coast players
Watched once, and then again!
I always fall asleep it seems
The second game they show.
I wake up during replays
And then re-watch the flow.
By then it's after midnight.
No one knows I'm up.
My dog is sworn to silence
With biscuits in his cup.
Cuddled up upon the couch
Pup, pillows, blankets, such
I saw the ads for Center Ice
And the price not much.
It ONLY seemed that I would lose
A simple snore or two.
A lot of games were early.
Big choice provided you.
Hockey Night In Canada
Was just a tiny taste.
I saw the list for Center Ice.
A must watch or a waste!
Every night a choice of games.
I set my screen to see
Two at once. I'm watching
'Til time for bed for me.
As soon as everyone's asleep
I get up once again.
Snacks dug out of the closet
I slide around the bend.
Coast is clear. Now headset
No one's going to hear.
I'll build up sleep immunity.
Lost z's I do not fear.
The season moving forward
With my secret still alive.
Sure I'm feeling logy
And sort of sleep deprived.
A must to watch each team
The playoffs coming up.
You never know who'll play
To win the Stanley Cup.

A click on my remote.
I watch some of every game.
So let's not sugar coat.
Sure Doc, I'm still tuning in.
It's close to season end.
I'll bet you'll watch the Stanley.
It's right around the bend.
I'll be alright through summer.
On tape a lot of game.
It's not a drug addiction.
A great sport is to blame.

Sure I slept through English

And every half an hour
My cell phone's set to shake.
I illustrate with hockey skills
Their Math and Science too.
My students scores are bearing out
The lessons all come through.
The purpose of our talking
To quell the school board fears.
They speak with great alarm.
I've taught this way for years!
There's no cause for such concern.
Right after Stanley Cup
The hockey season's over
And the school year's wrapping up!
