Our Antarctic Explorer!
Forget the ordinary when it comes to our explorer. Lynda Joy Smith is a first hand experience Australian travel writer. For her trip to Antarctica, she was willing toss some of life's amenities, don the appropriate gear, and take all the chances necessary. Devotion to camera opportunity is as important to her as her journal notes. Lynda Joy Smith is usually as the Australians say "spot on", with her writing and the eye of her camera. Her photos of an "up close Antarctica" are many, and only a very few are posted on this web site.
This photo of Lynda Joy Smith is exceptional, and taken candid during exploration at Port Lockroy, Antarctica. It reflects the depth and spirit of her Antarctic adventure and her commitment to her writing endeavors. AB

A few words from Lynda to the students and teachers who followed her trip:
Armchair traveling with National Geographic cannot prepare for the reality that is Antarctica! It all still seems like a fantastic dream and it's as well that I have the proof of my pictures. The sharing of my adventure with special travelling companions has made my journey even more unforgettable.
A big thank you to Artica Burr and teachers and students who have journeyed with me, and keep on writing! There's a big world out there just waiting for you to explore.
